This is one of my favorite blends that I discovered when visiting D.C.!
Really enjoying our First Bake. Usually drink a mix of Waypoint and Azimuth for a bold, dark blend of chocolatey, nutty, earthy and herbal. After reading descriptions and reviews, and emailing Compass, we discovered First Bake is kind of a mix of our two favorites and an even darker roast. What more could we possibly want in a coffee? Does a rich, dark blend with a perfect balance of nuttiness and boldness sound like your cup of coffee? Why not give First Bake a try?
You have spoiled me.... your coffee is the best! Thank you.
Great, love it!

Purchased the founding farmers blend together with my staple, Cardinal, just out of curiosity especially since I love the food at FF. This is a dark roast, which can be a tat strong for most people if not roasted well, but I found it balanced and smooth, no hint of bitterness at all. There was also a nice “just freshly roasted” sheen to the beans when I opened the can. Lovely.
I'm not typically a dark roast drinker and I had to grow in my appreciation for First Bake but I did get there! This is a very rich coffee with a pleasant linger. Definitely recommend as an after-meal coffee.
P.s. A description of first bake is not on the website and it'd be good to add one!
