Compass Coffee continues its expansion into Northern Virginia with this new cafe in Ballston Quarter, joining a slew of DC-based companies bringing a taste of the District to Ballston.

Ballston Quarter, Virginia - Compass Coffee today announced the opening of their newest café, a corner plot of the Origin apartment building that was built as part of the newly-renovated Ballston Quarter shopping mall. This is Compass Coffee’s second location in Virginia.

“This is an amazing space. The design and fabrication teams really pulled out all the stops on this one,” gushes VP of Café Operations, Maxwell Deem. “From the neon Compass Coffee logo, to the giant tin and merch display, to the open seating area. There’s just so much to love about this place.”

The café has a large indoor sitting area that wraps around its corner windows. Adorned by floor to ceiling windows that open via a pneumatic door opener to create an indoor/outdoor seating area, this café is amazing to behold. Compass Coffee joins fellow “Made In DC” company Union Kitchen, as well as other DC-based brands, like District Doughnuts, to bring a taste of Washington, DC, to Ballston. The new café will offer the same drink menu as all of Compass Coffee’s locations, including their renowned Nitro Cold Brew.

“I mean, it’s super cool to be a part of all of this. Looking back just a couple years ago, this whole area was totally different,” continues Deem. “It’s completely coming alive now.”
