WASHINGTON - Local Washington, DC, coffee roaster, Compass Coffee, opened its latest location in the District. The newest cafe is located at 650 F St NW, across the street from the Verizon Center and just one block from the National Portrait Gallery. This marks the third cafe opening in three years for the Veteran-owned coffee company. To celebrate the opening of its third location, Compass Coffee is giving away complimentary cups of coffee all day.
“This is such an exciting day for us,” says Compass Coffee co-founder Michael Haft. “When we opened our first location two and a half years ago, our main goal was to create a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds to come together over a cup of Real Good Coffee. It’s amazing to see where that has taken us.”
Considering that the new cafe is located directly across from the DC's sports and entertainment venue, the new cafe will have extended hours to provide a bit of caffeine those waiting in line for a Washington Wizards game, Washington Capitals game, concert or other event.
"It's important to meet people where they are," says Haft. "I can't tell you how many times I've lined up in front of this arena, after a long day at work, wishing I had a cup of coffee or an espresso to wake me up before I went in. Now people are able to do just that. We're beyond happy to be here!"
